# How To Turn On/Off Alternate Timezones

There may be various reasons you want to turn the Alternate Timezone feature on or off, depending on your company's location and your customer base. Follow these simple steps to allow or prevent users from making appointments in timezones other than that of the business:

{% embed url="<https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/UrdgHqjoLu9nOumlvhLJ0ewQ30XdAug_fLLMiq5ascuDcRzK_vvdfVFZfnIuCvbWu898WgetpB4H-CK6fkeUNz1bPZdbbRa6L6Gzc1w9biG0g_gzj8U_9AhkboaCpg4rkFcekWM1z-NKzNyHAMUsWDc>" %}

**Step 1:** Navigate to Settings > Business Profile

**Step 2:** Click or un-click the "Disable Contact Timezone" checkbox. When the box is checked, Contact Timezone is disabled, meaning all appointments will be in your company's selected timezone. When the box is unchecked, a customer can book an appointment in their own timezone.

*Note: Once the "Disable Contact Timezone" box is selected, all appointments will be made in the timezone set under Settings > Business Profile > Time Zone. Additionally, the timezone dropdown won't be viewable in the calendar widget.*

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://software-help-docs.gitbook.io/knowledge-base/software-guide/settings/how-to-turn-on-off-alternate-timezones.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
