# Understanding the Difference Between One-Step and Two-Step Order Forms

This article will run through the differences between a one-step and two-step order form and cover use cases for each. While both forms let you collect contact, shipping, and payment information from leads who opt-in to your product or service offering, they are structured differently. You can embed the one-step and two-step order form elements directly in funnels or websites.

**Part 1: What is a one-step order form?**

A one-step order form collects contact, shipping, and payment information all in one form. When the lead presses “Complete Order,” their information is stored and payment is completed.

**What is a two-step order form?**

A two-step order form collects contact and shipping information in one step, then collects payment information in a second step.

{% embed url="<https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/nKFwMlX_TaessyYJ1gfvLBZWF_09kLQmmTVgoBteUHEsK9l9auw18t_dOuzlxoavQEY_W568q8GYuoAe_5Z9ZEn_B8rvXzYVLWj5uUfvoJUAbg7zNEuUBWauNAIVMeX2Ko9u8kLVugbLHdxEza0EUXc>" %}

The benefit of a two-step order form over a one-step order form is that with a two-step, if the contact fills out their information in step one, presses submit, then doesn’t complete step two, you have their contact information and can use it in various ways to remind them of their intent to purchase.

Check out our **“Workflow Abandoned Cart Template”** article for more information on how to do this with a two-step order form.
